A graduate of King Georges Medical college, Lucknow with post-graduation in Orthopaedics from NTR university, Vijayawada, followed by certificate course in MCh in Orthopaedics from University of Seychelles.
Dr. Sumit Badhwar has undergone super specialty training in knee arthroscopy from AIIMS Delhi and sports medicine from England and did his Joint Replacement Visitation from Max Elite institute.
Dr Sumit Badhwar is one of the Lead Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Delhi NCR Area & he specializes in orthopedic surgeries like Joint Replacement Surgeries, Stem Cell Therapy, Poliotic surgeries, Arthroscopy, Fracture & pediatric orthopedic treatments etc.
In the past, Dr.Sumit Badhwar is responsible for managing FIRST Private corporate Hospital Joint Replacement Unit in Himachal Pradesh.
He has to his credit of doing First Reverse Shoulder Joint Replacement and first to do Stitchless Joint Replacement Surgery and first to use Special Plates for Fracture Fixation in Himachal Pradesh.

What are Orthosis?
Orthosis are the assistive devices which help in rehabilitation, correction of the posture, pain reduction as well as aid as provide support to the weak muscles or areas of the body.
These are in many forms,structures and are numerous in types, they are the integral part of the orthopedic treatment process.
They have been broadly divided into following Categories:
AFO – Ankle Foot Orthosis
KAFO – Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis
HKAFO – Hip Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis

How are they Applied?
It depends upon the area being treated and the type of orthosis used:
The patient & the caregivers will be taught how to don that orthosis at home
How to tighten or loosen it using the buckels
Till what time it has to be worn by the patient and
The Pressure points to be taken care of.
What purpose do they serve?
Provide support to the weak muscles thus reducing the pain.
Corrects and prevents the misalignments of the joints
Dynamic orthosis helps in correction of the deformities

Question 1. Will you be providing Orthosis at your Clinic itself?
Answer. Yes, you will be given the orthosis,as per your requirements and the deformity/ailment/Surgery.
Question 2. Do I have to wear the orthosis all the time?
Answer. No, If you have not undergone any surgery, then you don’t have to wear it all the time, You should start by wearing it for one hour first and then start increasing the time duration gradually unless advised otherwise.
Question 3. Do You have all the Orthosis required after joint replacement or any other fracture surgery?
Answer. Yes, we have all kinds of splints, corsets and braces required after joint replacement and other fracture related surgeries.
Question 4. Can I exercise while wearing Orthosis?
Answer. It again depends upon the reason why you are wearing them, in surgical cases, where the joint is in splint, then the splint is doffed first and then the exercises are performed unless stated otherwise.
Question 6. Till when the orthosis be needed after surgery?
Answer. You will have to wear the orthosis till the recovery of the condition.
Question 7. What diseases can be treated with Orthotic treatment along with the orthopedic treatment?
